HOW MANY REMOTES,WHAT TYPE OF TIE MECHANISM,HORSEPOWER NEEDED? THANKS, MARK. I had a 1450 with hydraulic,a neighbor had one with electric.
My 1475 that I have now is electric. If it's hydraulic,you'll need dual hydraulic (4 hoses),with electric,best if you have a tractor with an alternator as opposed to a generator.

I generally ran mine with a 90 horse tractor,but only because that was the one with the cab. I ran it with a 53 horse Oliver 1550 just fine. The ONLY drawback with them is that they aren't an open throat baler. If you pick up a green slug or something like a large stick in a windrow,it'll stop feeding in and you might be down there on a 90 degree day pulling stuff out of it by hand. That's not an exclusive thing to a Gehl baler,just the way it is with that TYPE of baler. You might have a little trouble starting a bale in straw or real dry grass hay.
There are ways to remedy that to some extent. All in all,I'd say if it hasn't baled a million bales,been left outside or been abused,the price is right. They make a darned nice tight bale. Which would be just a bit newer. They're a decent baler. But I think at this point in time, with Gehl out of the AG market, and that baler already an orphan. To me it would be worth somewhere in the 500-1000 buck range. Just because. Give it 5 years and I think you'll find that it's going to be a certain type of character that can scrounge the parts or make parts to keep one running.
If that's you, you can get a good deal. If it's not you, I think I'd suggest you keep looking for something more likey to be supported down the road.
