Machine is in pretty good condition and would like to keep it as good as possible. Have looked on the internet for any manuals, but they seem hard to get. Does anyone of you know where I can get my hands on some copy's or original manuals for this machine?
This is my first machine and also new in the art of coffee, so any tips are welcome. Unfortunately I have never come across a manual to this machine, not sure if there ever was one worth reading. If you are looking for schematics, they are widely available on the net and one of the big advangeges of the maschine is its simplicity. The E61 was the first pump driven machine and there is absolutely no fuzzy electronics in it and so much room inside that it is fairly easy to work with.

If you haven't already done it, it is a good idea to disassembly the machine and give all pipes ad tubing a good cleaning and change all gaskets. This will give you a great feel for the maschine and how it works. Poul Oh yes, one thing. If it is an original maschine you will have manual water fill, meaning you should always keep an eye on the water level Senior Member Joined: 30 Jan 2005 Posts: 2 Location: the netherlands Expertise: I love coffee Posted Mon Jan 31, 2005, 12:44pm Subject: Re: Faema e61 service manual/userguide Thanks for your reply. Do you have any links to thos schematics, or do you have any of them realy to send by mail? Do you realy think it is a wise decision to take the whole machine apart? I mean, I am quite hany with tools, but it sounds a bit dangerous.
If you think it's quite easy to do, I might give it a try soon. Please share any data and knowledge you have on rebuilding the e61 (if you want). Well the maschine lay-out is really simple and there is a lot of room in the casing and I found it very easy to split the maschine.
I had no previous experience with espresso maschines and I'm not a great handy man, but found it all very easy. Just take one pipe at a time and work you way through it.

Actually the will find that all washers, o-rings etc. Are standard plumbing sizes (some of them pre mid '80ies) and you can get them in any hardware store.
If you need some more specific spare parts you can get aftermarket at for example coffeeparts or original parts from your local Faema dealer. Almost all is still in actual production by Faema (not the manual water fill and the original pressurestat) Poul Faema e61. The problem with the machine is most likely the solenoid valve(black or blue electrical box connected on the side of the group), for easier access remove the front panel there are about 5 screws holding it in place, 2 on the bottom and 3 on the top under-side. Disconnect or turn off the water supply.
Then using a 14mm open end wrench remove the nut and the discharge pipe. Do Not remove the 4 small allen wrench screws on the brass piece connected to the machine.
Now remove the electrical box over the silver pipe, and using a cressent remove the silver pipe from the brass rectangle square. Slowly open the water supply, if water shoots out then the head is clear, we will move on if not, use a pin and clean the middle hole. Check the silver pipe also there is a small plunger in there press it in if it moves freely then we are good, if not you can try soaking it in puro caff until it clears or just get a new solenoid coil.
Remove the shower screen and screw in the group head, you can soak those also. If you still cannot get water, then we will have to go deeper into the machine. Posted on Jun 03, 2009.
